Collection Event

CollectorHildebrand
Collected Date1954.8.11
Field Numberz62472
Event RemarksECS notes: Corpus Christi Pass was formerly much larger, and once split Padre Island from Mustang Island. It was silted closed at an undisclosed point in the middle of the 20th century. The recently (2005) re-dug Packery Channel was the former SE edge of Corpus Christi Pass, and extended NW up to what is currently referred to as Corpus Christi Pass. Based on this collection date, it is unclear how much of the original Corpus Christi Pass was still exposed, and what part of the historic pass the specimens were taken from.
