Specimen NotesAlthough not formally described this is likely what was called Xiphophorus regio in preliminary manuscripts and is known in the aquarium trade. Mentioned here (http://www.oevvoe.org/xiphophorus-artenliste-species-list) with note: 'the taxonomic status of this population is not clear; distinct form not similar to any other northern platyfish, known since 2008 also as "Santa Ana platyfish" or "Tunnel platyfish'
