Determiner Dean Hendrickson
Determination Date Feb. 27, 2009
Determination Type specimen examination
Identification Comments Specimen examined and Id'ed for FoTX project. | ID is clearly Agosia chrysogaster. Mearns collected in TX, but also collected much more in Arizona (Verde valley of Gila drainage as I recall) and it seems therefore that this could be a mis-labeled specimen from AZ. He was stationed at Fort Clark in Brackettville and I could easily imagine that the stream (Las Moras) there would have once been very nice Agosia habitat. There is no Fort Clark in AZ. This record is suspect since occurrence of this species in TX is only substantiated with this single record, at least for now.
Identification Confidence High
