Biology
Occur in gravel-bottomed pools, runs of creeks, small rivers (Ref. 5723) and streams (Ref. 10294); usually found in debris. Spawn in headwaters (Ref. 5723, 10294). Adults feed on aquatic isopods, amphipods (Hyalella), mayfly nymphs (Stenonema, Leptophlebia), midge larvae, and limpets (Ref. 10294). Eggs are found attached to the substrate unguarded (Ref. 7043).
Max length: 7.8 cm TL; common length: 4.6 cm TL.
