Habitat Associations

Freshwater. benthopelagic.

Biology

Inhabits rocky pools, often near riffles and vegetation (Ref. 5723); also found in small upland creeks over sandy substrates. Feeds on chironomid larvae and pupae, and larger aquatic insects (Ref. 10294).
Max length: 8.5 cm TL.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC), assessed 2012-02-16. Resilience: High (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
